These coins were first produced during the nineteenth century, and they remain popular with investors due to their historical value and their relatively stable values. These gold bullion coins are also legal currency, newer coins sometimes bear the date 1892 because the mint did several re-strikes using that original date stamp.

Reverse Motif: The reverse side bears the image of an eagle with an imperial sword and an apple. The edge of the coin bears an inscription that reads Viribus Unitis, a Latin phrase that means "Join forces."
